Forest Education with River Connect

Grade 3 - 6 students enjoyed a Forest Day  on Tuesday organised by Allison Trethowan from River Connect. They participated in a variety of activities including:

Wildlife – Kirsty Ramadan from Bohollow Wildlife Shelter brought some captive bred local wildlife for students to get a close up look at. Kirsty shared her wealth of knowledge about local wildlife and their needs.

Biodiversity Twister – Goulburn Murray Landcare Network staff facilitated a fun game where students learnt about how important biodiversity is within our ecosystems.

Habitat games – Goulburn Murray Landcare Network staff faciliated games to help students learn about the habitat needs of some of our wildlife, and how difficult it can sometimes be for them to create and keep their homes.

What I love about River Red Gum Forests – RiverConnect staff facilitated an opportunity for students to get creative about what they love about the forests in their backyard. A blend of nature journaling and creative expression.
