ANZAC Day

This week, students in Year Four have been writing poems, as part of their learning about ANZAC Day.

Remember Them

By Luca Payne

As dusk roles over the poppy fields which shine ,

People Of their familys, go to the shrine.

This is the day we remember them,

The wounded, the lost, the pain of them.

To this day,

we whimper and say,

lest we forget.

When the bugle plays we commemorate the lives of the men and women,

Who helped bring this country to be forgiven.

Poppys shine,

Of remembrance of their time,

Lest we forget.

ANZAC  Poem

By Juliet Vincent

Soldier

Brave, fearless

Fighting, working, helping

Guns boats, poppies, biscuits

Shooting, sailing, flowing

Trusting, daring

Hero

Beach Rush

By Spencer Rosentreter

Trotting through the sand,

all the way through.

As quiet we can,

Oh no! A bullet flew!

Rushing back, sliding fast,

looking for shelter.

Looking forward,

looking back.

Oh no! Not better!

Body there,

gun there.

Then someone shouts watch out!

A bullet flies past my face,

With a lot of fright I make it.
