Science Update 

National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) 

Between 6 and 18 January, two fortunate Year 12 students, Billy Stewart and Rebecca Wallace, attended the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) in Perth and Canberra respectively.   Over 450 students Australia wide were selected to participate in this unique Science experience focusing on Science, Maths, Medicine and Engineering. 

 

Throughout the 12 days, the students attended university lectures from leading scientists, participated in various hands-on workshops and made many like-minded friends. NYSF is recognised globally as being a prestigious event and those in the industry hold participants in high regard.

The National Youth Science Forum applications open online later in the year and a range of scholarships are offered by Rotary Clubs to assist funding the students.

ANZAAS - The Australian & New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science (Year 10-12)  Held in Tasmania in July 2014.

 

The Conocophillips Science Experience (Year 9 & 10) Held between September 2014 – Jan 2015.
