Years 3/4 Slimy Science

On Monday 3rd April the Year 3-4 students participated in an eco-link Chemistry science session, which was amazing and lots of fun. Students learnt about the three states of matter (solids, liquids, and gasses) and had a chance to make their own slime. Students then conducted a series of brief experiments to see which of the states of matter their slime may exist in. We discovered that slime is both a liquid and a solid! It is a non-Newtonian fluid!

Students who participated in Athletics on Monday, had the opportunity to repeat the session with the Year 3-4 pre-service teachers on Wednesday 5th April.

New STEM Lego

The school recently received Lego kits from DeadlyScience. DeadlyScience believe that Science is a lifelong pursuit and continuous search for knowledge that has been advancing for generations and they want to celebrate Indigenous people in STEM to continue the tradition through – Inspiration, Connections, Innovations and Discovery. https://deadlyscience.org.au/. These kits have already been put to great use by our students.

2A Class update

What an eventful and enjoyable first term we have had in 2A! It has been pleasing to see great growth and development in the students already in such a short amount of time. This term the students in 2A have enjoyed learning all about Greek Mythology during literacy sessions, and have honed their maths skills & fluency of facts via the Maths Mentals and Rocket Maths programs. We have also studied the topic of Migration in Humanities and have explored a range of different forces in Science. The highlight of the term for the students though was clearly the Year 2 overnight camp to Port Fairy! Those who attended had an amazing time and they represented themselves and their school in an outstanding manner. We look forward to what the second term has in store for us in 2A!

6A Skipping Routine

At Monday's assembly we had the pleasure of watching Year 6A performing a series of skipping routines as taught by Mr Pattison. Some children from the younger students also participated. Well done to all the students involved.

Select students have been practicing violin with Music Teacher Tristan. We were fortunate enough to have them play at assembly on Monday. Well done to all the students who are currently learning an instrument.
