Cocurricular

There are many cocurricular activities on offer for students this term.

Late last term students were asked to register their interest in regularly attending an aged care facility, and I was overwhelmed by the number of students who expressed an interest and for the reasons that were given for wanting to attend. For those who expressed an interest please keep a look out as Mrs Henderson will be in contact soon to finalise details.

We also have a woodworking club and clay lessons on Monday afternoons this term.

Finally, our IT Department will be offering several Esport options for students on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (please see the information below).

To register your interest in woodwork, clay or Esports please follow the link here.

Esports

For students in Years Seven to Twelve, GSG is running an afterschool Esports club to participate in the AUS/NZ Interschool META High School Esports Tournament

No entry fees or equipment needed. This could all potentially lead to Nationals in Melbourne, winning prizes for you and your school. To start, Regionals for WA matches of the Tournament will run over the course of Term Two.

Schedule and games offered, including both practice and official matches:

Tuesdays 3.30pm to 5.30pm

  • Valorant (teams of five, best-of-one format)
  • Chess (solo, best of two format, 10 minute time controls, no increment)

Thursdays 3.30pm to 5.30pm

These sessions will take place on campus in the Tamungup Centre IT Lab (TC8) using the computers there. Please understand you will have to arrange pickup as this time is after the late bus has left.

All interested applicants are encouraged to register, whether you have a premade team or not.
