Kitchen and Garden & Sustainability News

Thank you so much to our volunteers last term. You’re help was so appreciated and it always gives the students so much more.
We are still looking for volunteers for our Term 2 program in our Kitchen and Garden classes. Please see the KG timetable above for this term’s program. Please email Fleur or Clancey if you are able to come along to any of these classes. We are so appreciative of any help. Alternatively if you decide on the day you can make it, the more the merrier, we would love to have you (just make sure you have completed the following below and you can read some documents prior to starting).
Kitchen – Fleur.Kilpatrick@education.vic.gov.au
Garden – Clancey.McKenzie2@education.vic.gov.au
There a few things that need to be ticked off before volunteering:
- Complete a quick induction at the office prior to starting (around 5 mins)
- Have your Working With Children Check https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/individuals/applicants/how-to-apply-1
Read a few documents that we will email you to ensure the upmost safety of our students.
And then you’re ready to go!
If you are unable to make the classes this term due to other commitments and still want to be a part of our program we would absolutely love some help gardening. It’s a big garden! You don’t need to be a gardener to help out, there are many jobs and so much to learn for everyone. Clancey will be in the garden Tuesday from 1pm and all day Wednesday and Thursday. She would really appreciate some gardeners to accompany her on these days. You are also very welcome to pop in any other day to do a spot of gardening to help manage our patch, even if it’s just 15 minutes around school drop off and pick up, every little bit helps.
Lastly, we are looking for some volunteers to go on a watering roster (20 mins) at every school drop off.
Please email Clancey (above) if you are able to help out in the garden in any way, she will be eager to answer you email.
We are so grateful for all the assistance and enthusiasm that is given to this amazing program for our students. Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Fleur and Clancey
