News from the Chicken Coop

Volunteers are still needed!

Thank you to the families that have volunteered so far to help look after the chickens this term, we really appreciate your time. We still have a few weekends available that we need to cover or if you would prefer a few days during the next school holidays just let me know.

Don’t forget that duty families get to keep all the yummy eggs they collect while on duty. An information sheet will be provided with all the details prior to your duty.

Please email Mel at mkerwin@sjmitcham.catholic.edu.au  with a couple of your preferred dates and we’ll pop you on the roster for one of those. First in, first choice of dates!

Egg Lotto is Back!

The chooks are laying so Egg Lotto is back. Yay!

The Environment Leaders from Year 6 have once again started running a fortnightly egg raffle. All the money that we make is put back into the keeping of the chickens for buying food and other resources. The first Egg Lotto draw will be next Monday, 31 July, at assembly. There will be a couple of dozen eggs available to win so get your $1 raffle ticket soon. The leaders will be at front of the school on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-3:30pm to sell tickets to parents or students.

News from the Garden

The Environment Leaders will also be selling freshly picked

lemons from our school lemon tree. Come and visit us out the front of the school this Wednesday after school and buy a delicious lemon or 2. Lemons are only 50 cents each!

Wonder Recycling Rewards

The Wonder Recycling Rewards Program has been extended - Only 2 more weeks left

The collection period has been extended until 4th August so keep collecting your bread bags and bring them into school. 

There is a box in the office area to deposit your clean bread bags. Please do not put anything else in this box other than plastic bread bags. The more bags we collect the more credits we receive to redeem free sports equipment for our school.
