Senior School

Although it may seem a long way off, students will begin the process of researching information and selecting their subjects for 2024 at the beginning of term 3.

Year 10 Subject Selection Process 

• Year 10 students will have a student assembly to explain the process of selecting subjects for Year 11 2024 in Week 1of term 3. This presentation will be recorded and posted on the website so that parents can be informed of all of the relevant information.
• We will conduct a subject selection Expo for students and their parents/ guardians on Wednesday July 19th in Period 3. The Expo will give students and parents an opportunity to discuss individual subjects offered in VCE with experienced Senior School teachers at the school. This part of the Expo will be set up in C Block.
• In the Senior Study Centre, we will have a Careers Expo with tertiary representatives that students can discuss post Vermont Secondary College study and employment options with. 
• Parents of Year 10 students will be invited to attend the Expo with their child. Parents/guardians are invited to come to the school and meet their child at the flagpole at 11.50 pm. Year 10 will have an early finish, dismissed at lunchtime due to the size of the event. Year 10 https://www.trybooking.com/CJDLK
• Web Preference (our software program that students enter their subject choices in) will open on Friday July 21st for all students.
• Year 10 students will have an individual course counselling session with a staff member at the college in Week 4 of term 3 to support their subject choices for 2024 as they move into VCE. 
• Students will need to have their subject choices submitted on Web Preferences by Wednesday August 9th.

• Year 11 students will have a student assembly to explain the process of selecting subjects in Week 2 of term 3. This presentation will be recorded and posted on the website so that parents can be informed of all of the relevant information.
• In the senior study centre on Wednesday July 19th, we will have a Careers Expo with tertiary representatives that students can discuss post Vermont Secondary College study and employment options with. All Year 11 students are encouraged to attend the stalls that interest them before they leave in Period 3. 
• Web Preference (our software program that students enter their subject choices in) will open on Friday July 21st for all students.
• Students will need to have their subject choices submitted on Web Preferences by Wednesday August 9th.
