Principal Report

Evan MILLER - Principal

Dear Students, Parents and Staff,

As we come to the end of another school term, I would like to take a moment to congratulate all of our students on their outstanding achievements and successes. It has been a term filled with remarkable moments and opportunities for growth. Our students have represented our college with pride in various fields, experienced enriching learning experiences, and successfully completed another exam period.

I would like to highlight the exceptional achievements of two of our students who have been selected for prestigious roles in their respective areas of expertise and interest.

Daniel B has been appointed to the Lighting Team in the State Schools Spectacular, which will be held on 9 September at John Cain Arena. Daniel's selection for this position is a testament to his dedication and the remarkable effort he has invested in developing his technical skills in the field of lighting for performances. Throughout the year, Daniel has been an active member of our community, providing lighting support for numerous music performances. We are immensely proud of his accomplishments.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge Jessie Y, who has been chosen to represent Victoria in the Under 18 Golf team at the upcoming championships on the Gold Coast in August. This remarkable achievement adds to Jessie's previous selection last year in the Under 12 Victoria Golf Team and is even more impressive as Jessie is in Year 8 this year and will be competing against other students who may be in Year 11 or 12. Jessie's unwavering dedication to her sport and golfing prowess is truly commendable, and we wish her all the best in the upcoming competition.

In other exciting news, I am delighted to welcome Tamara Mason to our teaching staff, beginning in Term 3. Tamara is an experienced Maths/Science teacher who joins us from Wantirna College. We are thrilled to have her on board and confident that her expertise and passion for education will greatly benefit our students. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Tamara and making her feel at home within our college community.

Our Winter concert, held on Tuesday 20th June, was undoubtedly a highlight of the term. The event took place in our theatre, and it showcased the incredible talents of our junior and senior bands, ensembles, and groups. It was particularly inspiring to witness our junior ensembles perform in front of a live audience for the very first time. Their confidence and proficiency on stage were truly impressive. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all our music and instrumental staff for their tireless efforts in preparing our students for this exceptional evening of performances.

Lastly, as we embark on the Semester break, I would like to wish everyone a safe and rejuvenating holiday. Take this opportunity to indulge in activities that bring you joy and relaxation so that you return on Monday 10th July feeling refreshed and ready to take on new challenges.

Once again, congratulations to all our students on their accomplishments, and thank you to our dedicated staff, parents, and community for your ongoing support. Together, we continue to inspire and empower our students to reach for greatness.

Warm regards,

Evan Miller
