Our Year 8D & 8E Food and Art students did a Collaborative project called
The Art of Food.
Here's is what Zeynep from 8E wrote....
I really liked this project since we had a lot of freedom when we were making our plates with our teacher Ms Abrahams and it was really fun. I really liked making the cupcakes since they tasted amazing and I liked how Ms Robertson gave us toppings that we wanted for our cupcakes.

7J Wearable Technologies Excursion
During May, all year 7 Art and Design classes are visiting the Banyule-Nillumbik Technical School for a hands-on excursion introducing students to the world of Wearable Technologies. 7J attended the Technical School on Tuesday 23rd May. Students learnt to sew by hand and sew using a machine, to sew conductive thread into fabric and attach LED’s to the wearable piece. Students were also introduced to coding to learn how to code the LED’s that can be sewn into clothing. Students then had the opportunity to practice skills and some students managed to create something from scrap material.

Year 9 LED Signs
Students in Year 9 Systems Technology were introduced to a basic electrical system of an LED battery-operated circuit for an LED Sign.
Students designed their sign using the CAD software AutoDesk Inventor, then engraved and cut the sign out using the Laser Cutter. Students demonstrated safe use of tools and equipment to solder a functional circuit including circuit board, LED’s, resistors, and battery packs.
Year 10 Chopping Boards
Students in Year 10 Materials Technology were required to work in allocated teams to collaboratively design Chopping Boards.
Students designed and produced their Chopping Boards from recycled timber, using a range of tools, machinery, and processes, incorporating biscuit joints and laminating timber.
Students were required to demonstrate safe use of machinery, including the Bandsaw, Biscuit Joiner, Disc Sander, Mitre Saw, Orbital Sander, Palm Router, and Thicknesser.
This unit is similar to the requirements of VCE Product Design and Technology Unit 2 “Collaborative Design” they will study next year.
