Year 9 LEAD Program

The week, from the 6th to the 9th of June, we had our LEAD program in the city. In groups of 4-6 the Year 9s completed activities all around the city such as the amazing race and tours.

We started off Tuesday with a quick police briefing from a policewomen named Grace, who informed us on how to stay safe on our visit to the city.

During the week we went through a number of activities like tours at RMIT, visits to the Immigration museum, Liveability tours, Sustainability tours and Big Issue Groups.

During this time, we recorded information and took pictures to create a five-minute reel which we then presented to our peers.

We also had a base room in the Westpac building on Collins Street, that we had to navigate to each morning.

Overall this LEAD inquiry program was a good way to familiarise ourselves with the city and public transport, as well as learning how to be respectful and safe.

It was a great experience, since we could then improve our teamwork and time management skills.

We are grateful to have had this amazing opportunity to get to know our city better.
