Code Camp - School Holiday camp

Camberwell Showtime

"Camberwell Showtime" is in its 57th year and is developed and produced by Scouts and Guides of Boroondara and Yarra. It is a wonderful opportunity for young people to be exposed to the world of theatre and everyone has been working so hard to make it the most exceptional performance in 2023.

This year audiences are in for a treat to see "Battle Royale" which is suitable for all ages and will be performed at the Hawthorn Arts Centre from the 4 th -12 th August 2023. It would be great to have as many people attend and support everyone involved.

Ivanhoe Knights and Banyule Hawks Basketball - Girls Showcase Round - 29th July

Stemming from the great idea and hard work of Sally Loughland on our basketball committee, Ivanhoe Knights and Banyule Hawks are excited to be hosting our Inaugural Girls Showcase for junior basketball on Saturday 29th July at La Trobe University Sports Centre.

The plan is to have all our girls’ teams play their EDJBA home games across the six courts at this one venue across the day (first games start at 8:30am and last games at 6:30pm) and for families across Banyule and beyond to experience the fun and enjoyment of what we know is the best sport in the land.  We’re also using the day to partner and fund-raise for BCNA.

We have students from many of the schools in our area enjoying playing for our clubs ranging from U8s to U21s and would like to use the day as an invitation for more girls to see their friends and to get involved.

We’ll share the official notification from the league once the fixtures are finalised but would like to use this first communication as a heads up that an invite will be coming.

Please reach out to any of the team cc:ed or me if you have further queries.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO PERFORM OR VOLUNTEER AT YOUTHFEST:

Each year we are lucky enough to have a range of bands/musicians perform live at YouthFest. This is a great opportunity for emerging musicians to gain experience in live performance and boost their visibility as an artist!  But don’t worry, if your not a musician there is still plenty of ways to be involved. YouthFest wouldn’t be able to run without the support of our incredible youth volunteers. Volunteering is an opportunity for young people to gain work experience and boost their resume in a fun and supportive environment. BYS encourages young people aged 12-25 who are connected to Banyule to complete and expression of interest. Selected participants will then be contacted by one of our Youth workers to guide them through next steps.
