Meeting our Koorie Education Support Officer
Afternoon tea meeting with our Koori Education Support Officer
On Monday 5th June, we had a short afternoon tea during second break that allowed all indigenous students at Viewbank College to introduce ourselves to the new KESO (Koorie Engagement Support Officer) at the school as well as ask her any questions that we had.
Along with this we were able to discuss ways of improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation in the school and ways for the school to reconciliate with first nations peoples.
We also met Shelley Ware and Neville Jetta who were able to share their stories with us.
Overall it was a great first step towards increasing indigenous representation at the College and I, for sure, cannot wait to see what happens next.
