Artist of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Artist of the Week: Lyla from 2TE. 

Lyla has been working on this colourful self-portrait for a few weeks, as part of an inquiry into patterns and shapes. 

Lyla traced a photo of herself onto clear acetate, and then used posca markers to draw different patterns and shapes into different segments of her face. She then carefully measured and cut out pieces of patterned wrapping paper to fill in the remaining sections. 

Lyla’s artwork is transparent and looks amazing when held up against a window for the light to shine through.
