Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Last Friday we finished the week with another wonderful whole school assembly led by our very capable, and on this occassion, extremely entertaining senior school leaders from 5/6MG. Our assembly leaders with the support of Mrs Fary who is filling in for Ms Maryanne, added a circus theme to their presentations. It is great to see the confidence our children have when presenting to an audience and how enthusiastically they participate when given a challenge. I know that not all parents are able to make it to our Friday asemblies due to work and other comittments but if you are ever free from 2:45pm we would love to see you join us for this great ending to our week.

As we know these past two years have presented challenges when engaging with school so it is great that we are now able to have parents join us as much as possible.

Coffe/Tea & Chat

On Monday 8th August, following our Monday morning gathering and special Mary McKillop Liturgy, we would like to invite all families to stay for a little while and join us for a coffee/tea and chat as another way of reconnecting socially at Trinity. We will send out an invitation early next week as a reminder, as it would be great to have as many of you who are able, to come and join us for a chat.

100 Days of prep

Tomorrow marks the 100th official day of Prep for our youngest students and so their teachers have prepared a special day of learning to celebrate this important milestone. Each of our children and their teachers will come dressed as 100 year olds to add a little fun to the occassion. So much learning has been done in these 100 days so you as parents should feel extremely proud of your child's achievements.

Staying Healthy

A reminder that with our constantly changing weather we all need to look after ourselves, keep up our healthy habits of hand sanitizing, social distancing and ensuring that if our children are unwell then it may be best to keep them home until  they are fully recovered.

First Eucharist

On Sunday 31st July I invite all our families to join the families of our Year 4 students who will be receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist. This is an extremely important part of each child's faith journey and a memorable one for our school community. Adding to this special occassion is the fact that the Parish will also be celebrating the Feast of St Ignatius which is a very significant day. We pray for each of the following children and look forward to celebrating with them on Sunday.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, bless the children coming forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time.
May this day be the step toward a life-long love of the Eucharist.
Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to you for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship.
Thank you for their innocence and goodness.
May their hands, extended in anticipation of your body , inspire all of us to cherish this sacred Sacrament.  Amen.

St Ignatius of Loyola Feast Day Mass

Tuesday 2 August at 10 am at

St Ignatius Church.

A special invitation was sent home yesterday to all families. We would love you to join us next week.

Introducing our new LSOs.

Two new very special Learning Support Officers have joined our already extremely talented team who all work closely with our classroom teachers to provide the targetted learning opportunities which support and extend so many of our children across all year levels.

Ms Rachelle

Rachelle is an experienced LSO who we are lucky to have at Trinity. Rachelle has been working in many different areas of the school and we love her flexibilty. Rachelle has three children of her own who keep her very busy when she's not working at Trinity.

 Ms Alex Bell

Alex is originally from the Surf Coast but is now loving living in Melbourne. Alex is currently studying to be a teacher, and is a  a talented artist as well. Alex is currently working with Ms Rebecca in Prep RT.

St Mary’s College Science Visit

( A letter from St Mary's College)

A big thank you to Trinity Primary School’s Grade 3 and 4 students! We had great fun bringing two of our year 7s- Trinity alumni Maggie and Max- to run a science experiment with you. We explored the concept of gravity by designing floating contraptions to protect our NASA agent ‘Egghead’ who was propelled from their rocket ship. The students had to work in groups of three to come up with their design, and then create it using an assortment of materials including tape, string, bin bags and toilet paper. We then tested the designs in the stairwell! We had a number of successful designs, and it was interesting to see how different approaches had differing results.

We also held a Q&A where the grade 3s and 4s could ask Max and Maggie about what it was like transitioning to high school. We talked about some of the challenging, exciting and surprising new experiences that our year 7s at St Mary’s College partake in, including surf camp, Fun Club and subjects like woodwork and science.

St Mary’s College has a range of Scholarships on offer for all students, based on Academics, Sport and Performance Art. We also have our ‘Trinity Scholarship’, which we award to two Trinity students each year who embody our St Mary’s College values.
