Leadership Report
Term 3 Now In Full Swing!
We are now well and truly underway for the term and there is a lot happening in and around our school. The holidays feel like a distant memory as we are zooming along to the halfway point already! There is a lot that's just happened and is about to happen in our school...
Learning Conversations have just been completed this week with all teachers and families. They have been a huge success and have run incredibly smoothly. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for all families to gain further insight into their child/rens' learning, successes so far and learning goals for the remainder of the year. We wish to thank all families for all of your understanding and assistance to ensure these face-to-face conversations were done so safely and in accordance with the guidelines in place to keep us all safe.
While discussing safety, this is a timely reminder to draw all families' attention to the busyness of roads and the current roadworks happening around the school. Many of our surrounding roads and pathways are undergoing upgrade works and as a result, we are seeing a lot of heavy construction machinery in use and changed conditions.
It is vital that when coming and going to and from school that all families take an extra few minutes to ensure that pickups and drop-offs are done so safely. When in a rush and running late, we see accidents and near misses occur. Safety is everyone's responsibility and business and is best taught by adults modelling the correct behaviour in the first place. Following this, a follow-up conversation with your child/ren about this is a good idea and they can't hear the right messages too many times. This is also a valued conversation to have when discussing the trusted adults at school and who can help them as well as possibly the most important one of all - stranger danger! We are constantly having these conversations at school in classrooms and your conversations at home will ensure the right information and messages are consistently delivered to all of our students.
Next week, we send off our Year 4 and 5 cohorts to their respective camps:
Year 4 campers are heading off for an overnight camp to Woodhouse and our Year 5s for a two-nighter to Mylor. We are sure they will have a wonderful time and enjoy all that a school camp has to offer. Our best wishes for a week of nice rain-free weather, however, either way, we are sure it will be a blast for all involved! Thanks very much to our teachers for all the hard work in organising and attending and the parent volunteers who are accompanying these camps for donating your time and making it possible too! Have a great time.
