Relationships with Community – Build Relationships with Community

During the school holidays Karadi Aboriginal Corporation held its inaugural touch football carnival at Wentworth Park. The aim of the day was to get the Aboriginal community involved in touch football and in promoting healthy lifestyles by connecting to community support services and organisations. The day was run with mixed teams in a knock-out carnival, with stalls and displays, information and special guest star Ex-Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans and Wests Tigers halfback Scott Prince who is a Deadly Choices’ brand ambassador.

Year 8 students Cohen Macey and Hamish Beechey represented St Virgil’s College, joining with their friends from St James Catholic College to form a very competitive mixed team.

Karadi hopes to make its touch football carnival an annual event while also expanding Deadly Choices sporting carnivals to offer different sports in the future.
