Welcome back to everyone for Term 3. A special welcome to Ethan Powell, who has joined us in 4P, and to Mr Joel Size, who has joined us as a Learning Support Officer working in Grade 6. We are all very excited for a wonderful term of learning, sport, and play. We have many great things happening this term, including Grade 3/4 camp, Grade 5/6 Friday activities, the basketball roster and lots of exciting learning opportunities.
This week we have been thinking about our Virgilian Way value of 'Community' and the boys have been reflecting on how being welcoming, helpful and inclusive builds a positive community. We will continue to look for opportunities to live out this value this term.
Today was a beautiful day for our Athletics Carnival. There was so much house spirit and enthusiasm and our boys conducted themselves brilliantly. There were many great feats of athleticism but there were also many examples of boys doing their best even when sport is not their 'best thing.' Every race finished earned house points, so every effort is valued. I offer my congratulations to everyone who participated today. A huge vote of thanks must go to Mrs Karryn McCullagh who organised a stellar carnival, and to the many staff and parent volunteers who helped out today.
The final tally for the day is below:
1st - Doyle at 465 points
2nd - Dwyer at 439 points
3rd - Hessian at 428 points
4th - Joyce at 402 points
