Leeton Eisteddfod

On Thursday 11th August, the Kildare Choir travelled to Leeton to compete in their annual Eisteddfod. Due to covid restrictions around singing, this is the first time the students have been able to compete since 2019.

The students performed across a number of styles including sacred/spiritual, A Capella, folk and contemporary.

They were entered in 6 sections and placed first in 5.  The adjudicator commented on their excellent harmonies and vocal tone.

They were also awarded the Marjory McCormack Award for the School Choir that shows excellence. This is an award open to both primary and secondary choirs and has not been won by Kildare since 2014.

I would like to commend the students on their commitment to lunchtime rehearsals and their outstanding behaviour. They were an excellent representation for Kildare Catholic College.
