Excursion  to

Falls Creek

Years 11 & 12 Snow Excursion

on Friday 12th and Friday 19 August, 46 Year 9 PASS students and 32 Year 11 and 12 SLR students travelled to Falls Creek Mountain Resort to participate in a day's skiing and snowboarding as part of their Outdoor Recreation units. After an early start, the students were excited to see the first signs of snow on the ground and get straight into their lessons, provided by qualified instructors at the resort. The Year 9 trip experienced white-out conditions making the first few hours on the snow a little tricky. As the cloud lifted, students made significant progress and enjoyed exploring the runs and refining their new skills.

The second trip for the SLR students saw sunshine the whole day. Students learned the basics, or further develop their skills in lessons first thing in the morning before having the chance to challenge themselves on the many trails available. A huge thank you to Mrs Cooper, Mrs Scutti, Mr Gaffney, Mr Hunt, Mr Hull and Mr McNamara for braving the early start and accompanying the trips.
