Author Visit - Jason Goldsmith

First time author and father of Henry (3/4TM) and Ivy (Prep H) visited the school this week. The senior students and Henry and Ivy's classes were fortunate to have Jason share his experience writing his first book, Surfing for England - Our Lost Socceroos

Drawing inspiration from the history of the game in our country and some older inspirational Australian football books, Surfing for England - Our Lost Socceroos looks at the players who might have or could have played for Australia but who didn’t, for one reason or the other. It was fascinating to hear about the process taken from the early stages of exploring ideas and putting words to paper, to the completion of the published text 12 months later. The students asked fabulous questions and were able to make great connections with their learning in Literacy, gathering inspiration for their own journey as writers.

Jason will be selling his book at the school fete, so be sure to get in quickly to grab your copy!

Thank you, Jason.
