Music Camp

During the final week of Term 1, 70 music students attended Music Camp at Ferngully Lodge in Healesville. The students from Junior Band, Junior Choir, Viewbank Voices and Intermediate Band spent three days in intensive workshops where they worked on developing their ensemble skills while learning new repertoire.  It wasn’t all hard work though, each night consisted of group activities including movies, trivia and very enthusiastic karaoke!

Jazz Melbourne Youth Band

Jazz Melbourne Youth Band is a year long initiative that brings together students from across Victoria and focuses on promoting Jazz education within Australia.  Bands are comprised of students aged 16 –  21 and perform multiple times throughout the year and provided opportunities to develop their composition and arranging skills within the bands culminating in a recording project and performance featuring four projects throughout the year with 2 performances per project at the “Paris Cat” Jazz club.  We are very proud to congratulate Aaron Western (Year 10, Alto Saxophone) who completed a rigorous audition process to be accepted into the Jazz Melbourne Youth Band for 2021.

Winter Music Festival

This year will see a change to our regular Concert schedule.

All ensemble students will perform in the Winter Music Festival, with two concerts being held in early June.  Stay tuned for more information.
