Wellbeing Team News

Welcome to our New Chaplain

Earlier this year, HPSC was successful with our application to the National School Chaplaincy Program. This means that we now have the pleasure of welcoming Jack Joynson to our learning community. Jack is an accredited chaplain with a certificate in youth work, who loves cricket and video games. He enjoys working with adolescents to facilitate their personal growth, and will do so at HPSC by modelling our college values of respect, learning, and working together.

Jack will be working as part of the Wellbeing Team, providing support to students of all faiths and none. Support from the chaplain is open to anyone – students do not need to be a person of faith to work with Jack. If your child would benefit from guidance working through life events, interpersonal challenges, study pressure, or if they just have something on their mind they might need to talk about, Jack is ready to help.

While he will not be providing religious counselling or instruction, Jack will be working in collaboration with college staff to support adolescents’ wellbeing by delivering pastoral care and mentoring, as well as running programs and lunchtime activities.

Jack will be at HPSC two days a week - Thursday and Friday - and is able to work with students once parental consent has been gained. Students can access support by speaking to the Wellbeing Team in A1, being referred by a college staff member, or by parents/carers contacting the college.
