Dear Families,
It is very gratifying to see so much extra-curricular activity occurring in the college involving junior students, whether in the yard, the afterschool maker space, or homework club, students are really making the most of opportunities to be involved in the broader school program.
This is also very evident at rehearsals for our up-coming cultural performances. The students are so focussed upon building their performance skills, and the variety of performances are a testament to the rich diversity of cultural life at Lalor.
I want also to mention the exciting development work occurring in student leadership at the college.
This year, we are growing our leadership body in the SRC by creating a new group known as Students Making A Difference (SMAD). This group will be comprised of the many students who do not take up formal leadership positions on SRC but nonetheless are passionate about contributing to our community and making the College and the world the best place it can be. Students will be encouraged to nominate for this leadership roll over the next week and to join the parliament of the student leadership team. See the many photos from our meetings that appear in the Newsletter. It is very pleasing to see so many older students eager to assist those younger students to engage in leadership activities.
