Library News

Having trouble finding your library book from last year? We are here to help

The Library is currently finalising all student library book loans that have not been returned from 2019. There are approximately 110 books outstanding and we would love to see them all back safely on the shelves. We have many students eagerly awaiting the return of these books so they can also enjoy them.

Please ensure that you have searched at home, in your locker and anywhere in between for your missing book. The library shelves have been checked and email reminders sent to students. If you have misplaced or lost a library book, please come and see our friendly library staff who will help you in tracking your lost library book. Thank you in anticipation of all those library book returns.

YA Day presented by The YA Room and Writers Victoria

YA Day is back – and bigger than before. Coming up on 14 March 10am - 4 pm, at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne.  The start of the day will be discussions and signings, giving you close encounters with your favourite writers. Get your book signed, get your questions answered, and get to know new-to-you authors with great new books! Then, in the afternoon, the program will split into two streams.

Want to write your own YA? There’ll be two 90-minute workshops: Will Kostakis on How to Build A Story and former publisher Kate Cuthbert on How to Get Your Story Out There.

Looking to interact with other readers?

Attend panel discussions, featuring your favourite authors talking about topics like ‘My Favourite Fictional Murder’, ‘Trash or Treasure’, and a spirited discussion about which tropes are readable – and which are not.

Participating authors:

  • Katya de Becerra
  • Danielle Binks
  • Michael Pryor
  • Wai Chim
  • Astrid Scholte
  • Anna Morgan
  • Sarah Epstein
  • Georgina Young
