Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

How quickly the term is slipping away! Assessment week, has meant that students have been focused on completing several on line assessments in both Literacy and Numeracy. These standardised tests enable us to track student growth and identify areas for future learning.

TOOLAMBA ATHLETICS

Weather permitting, we are looking forward to our Athletic Sports tomorrow commencing at 9.05am in the amphitheatre. Having the opportunity to have a lunch order has been extremely popular. We appreciate the P & F organising this for families. Students are to come dressed in a t-shirt matching their house colours. Family members are very welcome to come along, don’t forget your wallet if you would like to purchase a coffee or something to eat.

iNEWSLETTER

We have had some very positive feedback to our iNewsletter. Hopefully the format will make information easier for families to access.

Harmony Day is an Australian Government program that centers on the message that “Everyone belongs”, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians. Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for all. We will celebrate this special day on Wednesday 31st  and staff have been working on providing some great events and activities to celebrate this special day. The official colour for Harmony day is orange and all children are encouraged to wear something orange on the day.

SCHOOL COUNCIL & AGM

Our AGM is on Monday 29th March at 6.30 pm where the Annual Report will be presented. Our first meeting of the newly formed Council will follow. A light snack and refreshments will be provided. The Finance Meeting will be combined with the School Council for this meeting.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION & STUDENT SAFETY

Supervision in the playground before school is from 8.45am until 9am and after school, from 3.15pm until 3.30pm.

As a way of separating buses, cars and pedestrians, all students walking, being picked up by their parents or riding their bikes are to exit and enter the school grounds via the pedestrian crossings.  A teacher is on duty each night at the small gate to ensure that children are safe when crossing the road. Children are not permitted to cross the crossing without the permission of a teacher or their parent.

END TERM ASSEMBLEY

Our end of term assembly will be held on Thursday 1st April at 1.30pm in the amphitheatre. Family members are welcome to attend. Students’ efforts for the term will be acknowledged with the presentation of awards. P & F will be also drawing the winners of their Easter Raffle. Tickets are to be returned to school by Monday 29th March.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone over the next week.

Regards Heather
