Principal's News

Melbourne at Night

Dear Families

It has been a good week of teaching and learning and credit to all for their continued enthusiasm. It has been pleasing to see lots of student faces on Google Meets this week as, over the last couple of weeks, we have only been seeing avatars, particularly with the senior students.

As we finally approach the end of term it is timely to confirm with families that the current Leadership Team with myself as Principal, Annabelle as Deputy, Lucy O'Dea Religious as Education Leader and Antonella Tsakmakis as Student Wellbeing Leader will continue into Term 4.  As Fr Huy has assured everyone, if there is to be any change to this we will notify you as soon as possible.  See message below

A message from Fr Huy

Dear Families,

I wish to confirm that Mrs. Lindy Smith (Acting Principal) and Mrs. Annabelle Marinelli (Acting Deputy Principal) will be continuing in their leadership roles at Trinity school.

If there are any changes I will inform you at the time.

As the school continues to support our students in these challenging times I would like to express my thanks to the leadership and staff of our school.

Fr Huy

Staff Fun

Even during lock down our staff still manage to have a laugh and create some entertainment. Great dancing Rachel, Natasha and Urania as well a fabulous example of social distancing and contemporary fashion.

Spoonville

Our Spoonville is growing but we are calling for more. You can be as creative as you like and make characters including; cartoon favourites, footy players, animals etc. Use any materials you have at home; paint, pom poms, ribbons but textas work just as well.  Once you have created your character take a walk to school and drop it off outside the front door during school time and we will add it to the Trinity Family. If you don't have any spoons you could create your own Mindfulness Stone with a kind message on it.

School Photos

2020 school photos have been booked for 21st October. Fingers crossed.

Latest Edition of Trinity Times

Again thanks Finn  for your diligent approach to this

Riding the Corona Coaster

School TV has generously shared a special report video with the Catholic Education as part of its Coronavirus series.

In this presentation, Riding the Corona Coaster, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg explores how the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen next may impact students, families and staff in school communities. He examines increasing concerns regarding mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and substance abuse among young people, and emphasises the importance of promoting help-seeking behaviour and reducing stress levels at home. Dr Carr-Gregg provides tips for parents/carers on looking after their wellbeing during this challenging time.

Online event for parents - Anxious Kids

Parenting a child who struggles with anxiety, or even one who is beginning to show signs of anxiety, makes a challenging job that much harder. Particularly in the midst of a global pandemic.

While it’s natural to feel anxious in response to a threat, typical ‘threats’ come and go in a matter of seconds, minutes or hours. Never before have any of us been faced with so much uncertainty, change and stress over such a long period of time.

Dr Jodi Richardson is presenting on online event - Moving from anxiety to resilience $15

Meet Viv Galan our School Bursar

Hi, I’m Vivian and I am the Bursar and part of the Admin Team here at Trinity Catholic School. I am a Mum of three and Nana to two beautiful grandchildren.  I enjoy cooking, baking and reading.   I love spending time baking, playing and exploring with my granddaughter and look forward to getting to know and spend more time with my grandson, who was born during the first COVID lockdown!

And I am still waiting for families to send me a pic and blurb.

We are another week closer and hope the Government gives us a few nice surprises on Sunday in regards to restrictions. Stay safe everyone.
