Project Utopia
This fortnight saw the continuation of Project Utopia which runs throughout Term 3.
Each week, our Year 7 students work during InnovatED, in teams, to develop liveable cities that adhere to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The teams receive visitors each week that bring real world experience and questions, so their projects iteratively improve, whilst also benefiting from an invaluable and rich learning experience in the process.
Over the last fortnight we welcomed:
Mathias Cormann – Federal Finance Minister
Mayor Brad Pettitt– Mayor, City of Fremantle; Greens Candidate for the South Metropolitan Region
Paul Garbett – Director of Strategic Planning and Projects, City of Fremantle
Dr Kate Brooks – Beyond Boundaries Advisory Group member and Director of Stakeholder Engagement for Western Australia with MTPConnect
Anthony Spagnolo – Liberal Candidate for Riverton
Senator Jordon Steele-John – Australian Greens
Professor Romy Lawson – Provost, Murdoch University
This Friday we look forward to welcoming:
Hon Ken Wyatt AM MP - Minister for Indigenous Australians
Amanda Healy – Warrikal CEO
Shaz Rind – Managing Director, Arra Energy
Thank you to these visitors for sharing their time and knowledge with our students. Watch the videos below to see what happened in Weeks 3 and 4 of InnovatED.
