CELEBRATING LANGUAGES WEEK AT ALL SAINTS'

Languages Week was held 3–7 August across Western Australia. Although this year some of our usual lunchtime festivities could not take place due to social distancing, the Language Team endeavoured to provide students with opportunities to explore and celebrate language learning at All Saints’ College.

During the week’s celebration, French, Chinese, Japanese and Italian language students were immersed in an amazing range of cultural activities that allowed them to connect with the languages. Students had a fun time celebrating the different languages and cultures through games, food and music. Using their language skills, Years 7–12 language students engaged in activities such as ice-cream tasting, ordering a chocolate croissant, participating in the Japanese hot cake competition, and experiencing the social aspect of a French raclette.

Over the course of the week, students tested their language knowledge in Kahoot competitions as well as in an All Saints’ Education Perfect Competition. Students answered over 140 questions collectively to be part of the Education Perfect winning race! The Languages Week celebration ended with a quiz in Tutor Group testing the Senior School students’ cultural knowledge of Japan, France, China and Italy. Stay tuned for the prize winners.

Thanks to everyone for their participation in a fun week promoting the importance of cultural connection and unity in the All Saints’ diverse and multilingual community.
