Construction Immersion Day - Floating Deck/Pergola Update

The floating deck is nearing completion and we proudly have another update for this project as part of our Certificate 1 Construction program. The beautiful timber deck and structure compliments the eucalypt colourbond skillion roof perfectly allowing a seamless backyard infusion with the bush surrounds. The floating deck structure is a sizable 6m x 4m area with dry bar railing on the high side providing a safe space for children.

• laying decking boards and fixing them to the joist

• bracing a structure

This project has been a valuable learning curve in the development of the students future in the Construction Industry. The boys have learnt a lot about processes and systems which will help them to become more productive and efficient tradespeople (providing good employability skills).
