Deputy Principal's Report

Years 8, 10 and 12

Year 12, 2020

What a year it has been for our wonderful Year 12 students! They have made it through all the changes, lockdowns and issues that has made 2020 unforgettable in many ways. However, in the midst of it all they have produced fantastic PIPs, art works, photos, displays, timber projects, dramatic and music pieces, essays and lots of others responses. Ultimately showing their tenacity and resilience to strive for their personal best. We as a school are very proud of what they have achieved both academically and personally as they are fine role models to our school community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank on behalf of Year 12 their various Year Advisers who have supported them through the last 6 years of high school. Firstly, Mr Morris who supported them through their transition from Year 6 into high school. Most importantly he supported me through their Year 8 stages as they blossomed into Year 9. In Year 9 Mr Morris had a break from teaching and Year 9 were lucky enough to score the very popular Mr Quilty as their Year Adviser, which also saw the establishment of Quilty’s Kudos which is still today a desired title. Our whole community will never forget the terrible health news that befell on our Mr Quilty at the time, again Year 10 were a supportive and cohesive group through the very dark days. Thanks fully Mr Quilty recovered and was able to secure a fulltime position in

Sydney. He continues to be an important part of the Year 12 journey. Into Year 11 Mrs Draper took hold of the emotional care of this wonderful bunch of students. She was instrumental in supporting them through their Year 11 studies, we thank her very much for her support.

Then Year 12! What can we say about the support and love that Ms Fitzgerald has shown Year 12 throughout this very difficult year. She has been a stable, informed, caring, organised and funny pillar of normalcy for Year 12. Ms Fitzgerald we appreciate all your efforts and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support this year.
