It’s Springtime!
Last week was the first day of Spring. Spring is a time of new life, growth and renewal. The Year Prep Community celebrated the first day of spring by imagining an alien has come from outer space. The alien has never been on Planet Earth before, so he doesn’t know what Spring is. They needed to choose a way to present to explain to the alien what Spring is.

Spring science
There is lots to do outside when the weather is changing and new life is appearing in our plants and animals. Here are some activities that you could do outside or inside about spring.
Let’s make a rainbow
This experiment from Scienceworks enables you to use some household items to pull apart colour and create some gorgeous art. It uses chromatography - the science of separating the different parts of a mixture to produce a beautiful rainbow design. I tried this at home, check out my results, it is great fun!
