School Sport Australia Soccer Championships

On the 25th August my team and I went to the airport to board a plane to go to Canberra for the School Sport Australia Soccer Championships.

On the 26th there was an opening ceremony, you had to walk with your state – mine was Victoria.

Our first game was against WA, we were lucky enough to score in the first 20 seconds of the match. We won 1-0.

Next, we played Queensland who were the best team in the country. We ended up losing 0-1. Our third match was against NSW, Sky Blues. It was a very physical match, we lost 2-1.

The following day we had an excursion day to the AIS where we did a tour of the training facilities, we got to have free time in the games area.

Our last match was against NSW – Navy Blue, this was a very intense match. The end score was a draw.

A final closing ceremony was held on Friday, medals were awarded to the place getters. Our team finished 4th, the boys team won the tournament.

This was one of the best weeks of my life because I met new people and it was a great experience to play against teams from other states.
