Year 1 News

Year 1 are working well in their different learning spaces as we continue to discover each others gifts, talents and learning styles. Thank you for attending our Parent Information Zoom session on Monday 15 February. A copy of the slideshow will also be sent home on Thursday.

In English students are revising phonemes or sounds in words.  They completed their first Cold Write last Friday. Their first Big Write for the year will be this Friday with their Talk Homework coming home on Thursday. This will be in their Home Reading Folders which your child will bring home on Thursday.

In Religion students have been sharing about Belonging as an introduction to Baptism. We will have a Baptism display corner in class and will appreciate it if students can bring baptismal images and items to be displayed. Students also learned about Shrove Tuesday as the day before Ash Wednesday and  Ash Wednesday as the beginning of Lent.

In History, students are learning about the Past, Present and Future. They are investigating how the past, present and future are signified by terms indicating and describing time.
