Classroom News - Kindergarten

Mrs McMillan and Miss Simpson

Kindergarten have had a wonderful start to the year! We have spent lots of time having fun in our classrooms and on the playground and making lots of friends along the way.

These last few weeks we have been filling our heads with lots of new information, like practicing our letters and sounds, learning new songs in music, counting, and writing! We have particulally loved writing about our story book for the week How to Catch a Star, by Oliver Jeffers.

In Religion we have been learning about signs that show God and Jesus are with us. We were able to find so many at St Mary’, and we are still finding more everyday. This week Lent began. We all received ash on our heads to signify the start of Lent. We will be learning more about Lent in the following weeks.

Science has taken us outside the classroom to look for living things. We are able to see that living things can be both animals and plants. We will continue to learn more about living things and their needs next week too.

Things to remember

Please make sure all clothing and containers are labeled. We are already finding jumpers and food containers left at school without names.

Our library day is on Wednesday. This is when we will be able to borrow and return books from the library.
