Classroom News - Year 4

Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie

Week 3 and 4 have been packed weeks for Year 4 with a range of different activities and learning opportunities. Our English block is in full swing with Mrs Cain running some exciting and brain straining writing sessions. Reading groups are a focus for many as we all strive to be independent readers.

Thank you to all those who joined us via zoom on Tuesday evening, your time is greatly appreciated and please don't hesitate if you have questions to call the office or email at smaadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au

With Ash Wednesday upon us we enter the time of Lent, Year 4 have been looking at this closely as we learn that it is a time to reflect and look at the choices we make.

There is a number of books coming home for covering, we do apologize that these have been in dribs and drabs.  As many may know our science unit is "Use of Materials" and Year 4 has been asked to bring in a recycled box to ensure that they can safely package a fragile item through the post home, in time for holidays.

Years 3 to 6 were lucky enough to be visited by Stu Dunbar (Australian Rugby 7's Representative) and Young Gun Tom Silk (NSW Rugby 7's Representative) on Friday last week to discuss the life of a professional athlete and the game of rugby. Year 4 had some fantastic and challenging questions for the two boys with one of our questions being the favorite of Tom's which resulted in a NSW Waratahs Cap as a prize.
