Careers Report

Last week our Year 9 students completed the Morrisby Online program as part of the Year 9 Career Insights program. The Morrisby is a great tool and can be reviewed at any time, it supports student engagement, decisions about future subject selection, work experience choices and career investigation. 

 

We will be doing some follow up activities in term two to get students thoughts and reflection on the process and how we can ensure they are getting the full benefit to guide their careers and education moving forward.

 

I will follow up with any Students who were absent for the Interviews last week and will arrange another time to meet and go through their report, parents are encouraged to attend these sessions. I am also available to discuss further any questions that student’s parents and carers have about the report and this process.

 

Year 10 Students

Congratulations to those Year 10 students who have organised their work experience placement very well done.

 

Work Experience is the final week of Term 2 June 21 – 25 and this will come around very fast. Please support your child to get organised.

 

I am available to support students to find a placement; I do not find the placement. 

 

Part of the journey is student’s initiating the investigation, making contact, following up and persisting to arrange a placement, encourage and assist your child to investigate do not do it for them, sometimes the getting there and the hurdles are the most valuable experience.

I am available lunch times Monday – Thursday and am happy to meet with students after school.

I am working through individual planning sessions with our Year 12 in the last weeks of Term 1 and beginning of Term 2, please talk to your students about this and contact me to make a time that enables you attend.

We will begin the pathway planning session process with year 11 students mid-way into Term 2

Hard copies of the newsletter are available in the careers room and senior school hub. A copy will be emailed to all senior school students via their Scoresby email address.
