Building Works Update

Our STELLA building continues to grow each and every day. Over the next few weeks you will notice more steel being installed, the framing for the first floor of the building as well as scaffolding.

Exterior Toilet Block

As many of you will be aware, the external student toilet block is not the most pleasant place to be; it has been a thorn in the side of our beautiful school grounds for a long time. The block has reached famed heights over the past few years; it held a prominent position in our Strategic Infrastructure Needs Statement and was the focus for many students' persuasive writing pieces to local politicians. On Thursday 1st April (our last day of Term 1) the toilet block will be fenced off, ready for demolition over the holidays.

To mark this special moment, JSC has made a plan for students and community members to say farewell. If you would like to leave your mark, join us at the ME:Arts Exhibition, Friday 26th March.

Parking

It was fantastic to see parents and carers meeting with local member Tim Read last week, to discuss the road safety needs our community faces. I would like to take this opportunity to remind families to only park in legal spaces, for the allocated time - parking across driveways, double parking and overstaying the allocated time tends to encourage further unlawful behaviour by others and causes significant safety issues.

The school continues to seek solutions to our road safety concerns. If any parents or carers are interested in working in a small group with road safety as the focus, please let the school know.
