TheirCare Program 

This week has not been easy for Melbourne and the TheirCare family to let our parents, students, and the wider St Mary’s community that we are thinking of them during this lockdown. We can’t wait to see all your smiley faces again when this lockdown is over. 

Week 2 we launched into space with the theme ‘To Infinity and Beyond’. The students were recruited into St Mary’s NASA becoming experts in rocket ship design, solar system creations and all types of constellation and galaxy artworks.

Students launched balloon rockets, created solar system models out of Styrofoam, created tangram rockets, built their skills as scientists through the milk watercolour experiment and contacted clay extraterrestrials. One craft activity that was a big hit was shaving cream marbling with our space travelers creating beautiful artworks that are now featured on our new space display in service. 

The students loved the science experiments and asked for week three theme to be science-related. So this week we have been turning students into scientific and makers.
