From the Deputies

  Ruth Callery and Mary Craven

It was delightful to hear the chatter, see the smiles and welcome our children back onsite this morning. Thank to all our families for their support during the recent, and sudden, lock down. Being back online for so much during the last 5 days, reminded us of the importance of online safety for all our community, particularly our young people.

Helpful hints to stay safe online

The Office of eSafety Commissioner, is a terrific resource for all sections of the community, including some parents/carers free webinars. On this website you are able to access the most up to date information around anything and everything about online safety.

One helpful resource for all of us is the eSafety Guide, a booklet and information on all the apps / social media platforms. (https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/esafety-guide)

For example, Instagram - the eSafety Guide booklet gives guidelines around the recommended minimum age and how to use the platform safely and also what to do if things don't go quite right.

The message to all our students is to tell one of their trusted adults if they don’t feel safe or comfortable with any online interactions at any time.

Please reach out if we can be a listening ear at any time.
