Making Jesus Real

Last week the students from Year 6 worked with Marty Ogle, launching their journey into seeing how they can live their best life using the teachings of Jesus to inspire and guide them. Below is a letter from Marty to all Year 6 parents and you are encouraged to read it.
A message from Marty Ogle, Making Jesus Real
Dear Parents/ Carers
It was my privilege to visit your child’s class recently as part of the MJR (Make Jesus Real) project. Over the year we will discuss their issues and how they can become better people at home and at school. The theme for term was RELATIONSHIPS and we spoke about their relationships with i) HOME ii) SCHOOL iii) THEMSELVES iv) JESUS v) NATURE
We had very fruitful discussions about how to improve relationships at home with
I showed them a super YouYube clip called ‘Catching Kayla’ - a 12 minute inspiration film about Kayla who develops a relationship with her coach after being diagnosed with MS. Why not watch it with them again - bring a tissue though!
We also looked at ways to develop better relationships with friends, teachers, nature and Jesus. They were so positive, actively listened and participated in the activities especially the original ‘Among Us’ game. I will return a number of times during the year, especially concentrating on preparing them for high school. We also looked at their dreams for the future and we focussed on that they can achieve anything with the right attitude and a resilient positive approach.
We had a fun time with some magic tricks but it was even better when the students and staff explained that they had seen so many ‘Spirit of Jesus’ moments in the past few days eg people sharing equipment, classmates asking them to play with them, helping teachers etc.
Please take a moment to ask your child what they got out of the session as I am sure it will stimulate further discussions. Also a last word to say what great teachers your children have and how positive and motivated they are to allow your children to fulfill their potentials.
Looking forward to our next session,
Marty Ogle
