Parent Connection

Last Wednesday and Thursday the Primary school opened their classrooms so that parents could have the opportunity to come and see their childrens’ new learning environment and meet their teacher for the 2021 school year.

We had a great number of parents attend over the two days and there was positive feedback about how nice it was to be able to enter their child’s classroom in a safe way.  It was lovely to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they proudly showed their parents around their new classrooms and introduced their parents to their teachers.

Student Leadership

During the second week of school our year 6 students who wanted to be considered for a position of leadership prepared a short speech which they then presented to their peers and Year 6 teachers.  The speeches were of high quality and the girls should be congratulated for their efforts in their preparation.

It was an honour to present the Year 6 Leaders with their badges at the Prep to Year 6 Prayer Service on Friday 12 February and I look forward to working with the girls throughout Term 1 & 2 alongside our Year 10 College Captains and Student Leaders.

Year 6 Leaders:

Matilda Keeling, Matilda Forrest, Ines Gadon & Ruby Coleman

House Captains:

Loreto: Matilda Paine & Antonette Conrades

Lunchboxes - Nut Alert!

Recess is from 10:40am to 11:00am and lunch is from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.  Duty teachers supervise students for the first 10 minutes of lunch.  We encourage as much healthy food in our students’ lunch boxes as possible.  Establishing healthy eating is of primary importance and we remind families that nuts are not to be consumed at school.  This includes foods such as peanut butter, Nutella, hazelnut spreads, health bars and biscuits that contain nuts.  There are a number of students who experience severe and life-threatening allergic reactions to nuts.  Ideally students should only bring water to school in their drink bottles.

SEQTA

SEQTA is the learning management system that the College uses, with SEQTA Engage being the parent portal site.  This is where you, as a parent, can view feedback on your child’s learning and access their school reports.  If any parents are having difficulty logging on to SEQTA, please contact Student Services by phoning 6216 7900 for assistance.
