Parents & Friends

Welcome!

To all our new parents / carers who attended our first large function of the year last Friday, a big Welcome and Thankyou!

We had 179 from both campuses together with staff enjoying the chance to meet each other in an informal cocktail styled night.

I must thank the staff who supported this - Jo Hynes, Debra Campion, David Cracknell, Tom Hubeek and IT department, Dominic Langdon and especially our Principal John Finn who spoke together with David Cracknell on what it means to be at St Bede's and the importance of supporting our sons in their journey together, encouraging them to support MAD day for our overseas schools.

Please support this life changing fundraising event next week.

Also, Thankyou to Heather Watson, Debra Valentine, Katherine Cooling, Robert Jones and Reynold Valentine who served our finger food and on the bar. It was a great team effort after so long without an event.

The walking group returns on Thursday 1 April ( last day of term) at 9am Bentleigh East Campus, Bignell Rd Bentleigh.

Please meet at the pedestrian gate and we will leave by 9.15 - join up at the park opposite with a coffee locally at the end.

In the event of extreme wet weather, it will be cancelled - but we can still meet for coffee!

We look forward to meeting as many parents from both campuses.

Next term we look to our Mother’s Day breakfasts/stalls, coffee mornings, morning teas with our De la Salle Brothers, Bookclubs at both campuses where possible.

Please look out for invitations so you can join us.

The P & F together with the College look forward to having some of our traditional events back throughout the year.

We always welcome parents who would like to assist at these events so please keep checking our portal to volunteer, even for an hour.

Finally, we have a date for our AGM, given COVID restrictions it has been moved to Term 2 Wednesday 28 April, 7-8 pm in the Parmie Room, Mentone campus. It will be virtual and on site.

The purpose of the P & F meetings held in term, are to gain feedback on events and coordinate with the College future events in accordance with our College Mission Statement.

Also belated birthday wishes on behalf of all families to former principal and current tutor, who has given to generations of boys with dedication and a quiet presence, Br Quentin O’Halloran.

To all families new and current, have a safe family Easter break .

Best wishes

Jacinta Jones
