School Canteen
The College Canteen is run by My School Catering and operates each day between 8.30am to 2pm. See page 12 of the 2022 Student Planner for ordering procedures.
Our Canteen staff have written the following message to the DSC community.
As we welcome in Term 1 of 2022, it’s clear that we are entering a very different phase of the pandemic and ask that you continue to be understanding to our staff members.
Due to the recent events several people in our supply chain are in isolation we are seeing the impacts across the whole country and it’s not yet clear how soon the system will come back into balance as we move through the Omicron wave.
Unfortunately, because of this we have been required to increase some items to keep up with supply and demand and continue offering quality and consistent meal items.
We ask that you continue to be understanding to our staff members and thank you for your support during this time.

Canteen Assistant
My School Catering
Position: Causal – 15hrs per week
Hours: Monday 10am – 2:30pm, Wednesday 10am – 2:30pm, Friday 8am – 2:30pm (Hours may vary)
We are seeking a motivated and reliable canteen assistant to join our team.
Must have a positive attitude with a willingness to learn. Excellent communication, time management and organisation skills
Applicants must have a Working with Children Check and full vaccination certificate, including mandatory booster (Government requirement, under school staff)
Experience in coffee making with a Level 1 Food Safety Certificate will be an advantage. Full training will be provided!
Duties will include providing healthy and nutritious food to students, with a strong focusing on friendly customer service and cooperative teamwork.
- Food preparation
- Following food safety requirements and cleaning procedures
- Restocking & rotation of stock
- Assist with catering functions
- Assist in maintaining clean & professional appearance of the canteen areas including, fridges, storeroom, and all front display areas.
Please note this Job will suit someone who want to only work during school hours, as we are closed during school holidays.
