I'm so pleased you're here!

Welcome back to school in 2022. It might look a bit different from now on but goodness haven't we learned to appreciate the highs and lows that onsite schooling guarantees! We are incredibly grateful to the community already for helping us to keep our school open by ensuring mask compliance, excellent hygiene, regular Rapid Testing and being diligent about keeping students home if they are unwell. Team Kalinda really is rock solid when it comes to supporting each other and we thank you for your contribution to making 2022 something to look forward to.

A bit about me.

If we haven't met already, my name is Lauren Hopkins and my office is near the main foyer of the school. I have had the greatest privilege of being the Assistant Principal here since 2017. I live not far away with my husband, 2 boys (who are Kalinda kids!), 4 chickens, and the beautiful Roxie. I'm also the very proud owner of a neverending pile of washing to be folded. This year I'm hoping to find the bottom of the pile at some stage, no promises though! The things that bring me joy are reading, camping near the beach or bush, being with my family, and following the St Kilda Football Club. If you haven't heard, this year is our year so jump on whilst the bandwagon has some room, I'll save you a seat!

In my role as a school leader, my passions are: student, family and staff welfare; differentiation of learning; and student growth.

Please don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or ideas. I'd love to hear from you!

Roxie

One of our most popular staff members is Roxie. Roxie is a Cavoodle (low allergen) and comes to school every day.

In her role as a Wellbeing Consultant, Roxie's passions are: listening to stories, going for walks, 'vacuuming' for crumbs, staring longingly at tennis balls in the playground, being a kind and peaceful friend, and when she's really relaxed - tummy tickles. I hope you will come to say hello to her!

If your child has allergies or particular concerns about dogs, please feel free to let us know. Our school dogs are always on a lead and always under adult supervision.
