Parent Payments and School Charges 2022

The Ballarat High School Council is committed to providing the best possible learning opportunities for all our students.

Parent Contributions assist the School to provide an enriched learning and teaching program for every student and maintain its high standards in quality facilities. Parent contributions supplement Government grants and are crucial to our budget.

Ballarat High School invites payments from parents/carers in the following categories:

Curriculum Contributions: voluntary financial contributions for curriculum items and activities which the School deems necessary for students to learn the curriculum.

Extra-Curricular Items and Activities: items and activities that enhance or broaden the schooling experience of students and are above and beyond what the school provides for free to deliver the curriculum. These are provided on a user pays basis.

In 2022 we have the following whole school payment items;

Curriculum and Service Charge

A single financial contribution for curriculum items and events which BHS deem necessary for student learning. Whilst this is a voluntary contribution, all parents are invited to pay this charge as a supplement to our government funding, helping us to provide the best possible opportunities for your child. All funds received are directly applied to curriculum budgets.

BYOD Support Charge

Students are invited to bring to school an iPad (yrs 7-9) or laptop (yrs 10-12) as their core digital learning device. The BYOD Support Charge is relevant to those who bring a device on-site and covers initial on-site configuration/connection and ongoing technical support.

Arch Magazine

Each year BHS produces a school magazine. Purchase is optional. Orders close at the end of Term 3.
