New Faces

Over the next few weeks we will be introducing the many new staff members who have joined us this year. If you see them around, make sure you say hello!  In no particular order... and with many more to come... happy reading! 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

Head of Middle School. I am excited to be a part of such a vibrant, happy and loving community, and getting to know as many students and families as I can. I am also looking forward to experiencing the wonderful BOOM days that I have heard a lot about.  

What did you do previously?

I worked as Head of Year 9.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love anything outdoors and with my family. I love to surf, go camping, hiking and I also play a little golf. 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

This year I will be teaching the Preps! I am excited about discovering what God has in store for me this year as this is a big year of change. I am excited to be part of the BHCS community and to meet the Prep students and their families. I can’t wait to show the Prep’s how fun and enjoyable school can be!

What did you do previously?

Previously I was the Year 2 teacher at Heatherton Christian College and also the Head of Early Years.

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I love to do day hikes with my husband and my dog. I enjoy playing beach volleyball and snowboarding. I also like to travel overseas to experience new cultures, see new sights and try new food!

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I will be teaching Year 3, and sharing the class with Mrs Bouma.  Something I am excited about this year is working in a bigger team and learning to do things I haven't experienced yet.

What did you do previously?

Before coming to BHCS I taught in two other Christian schools. Most recently I taught a Year 2 and 3 /4 class.  I haven't always been a teacher though.  Before that I worked as a Learning Assistant and in school administration.

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I love to read (mostly fiction), walk on the beach, travel overseas and spend time with my favourite friends.  One of my favourite times of the day is when I get home and take my shoes off!

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I’m teaching Year 7-11 Visual Communication Design. Being made in God's image means that we possess the creativity of our Creator! I’m really looking forward to seeing all the amazing ideas students have and watching them have fun creating something new.  

What did you do previously?

This is my first year teaching. I finished my Bachelor of Secondary Teaching and Fine Arts last year.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love painting – particularly landscapes. I also love indoor rock-climbing, going on walks with friends and watching anything Disney. 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

My role is teaching Year 10 and 11 Maths and Year 7 Music. I'm excited about getting to know the staff and students and fostering a sense of community. 

What did you do previously?

I have just finished 10 years of university, but have also been directing a choir and running a music school.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love puzzles and board games, reading, and hanging out with my friends, both furry and otherwise. 

 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I am the new Careers Administrator and I am excited to learn and get to know this beautiful community at BHCS. 

What did you do previously?

I worked in recruitment and admin.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to spend time with my family and when I do get some time for myself, I love to be creative, paint or make things with air drying clay.

 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

This year, I'll be teaching Year 7 and Environmental Studies. I am really looking forward to getting to know the BHCS community and being part of all the action!

What did you do previously?

I have spent the last five years working as a Classroom Teacher and doing casual relief teaching. Prior to that, I  was a Learning Assistant at another private school for over ten years.

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I love to do anything that involves sport and adventure. I also enjoy doing home improvement projects, getting stuck into the garden and hanging out with my family and friends.

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I will be teaching Year 7/8 Math and Secondary Science this year. I am most excited about getting to know my students and being a part of this amazing community. 

What did you do previously?

I previously taught middle school science at Haileybury. 

What do you like to do for fun?

I love exploring the outdoors, reading, dancing and my newest hobby that I picked up during the lockdown has been song-writing. 

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

My new role at BHCS is Year 7 Learning Assistant. I am super excited to be part of the amazing team at BHCS and look forward to a fantastic year with the students and staff.

What did you do previously?

Previously I worked from home as a hairdresser. However, I felt encouraged to "reinvent" myself with a new career.

What do you like to do for fun?

Going on family camping trips, spending time with friends and enjoying good food is what I love to do for fun.

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I am a Learning Assistant in Prep! I am so excited to watch and help the students learn all of the ‘first things’ reading, writing etc. I’m so excited to develop a rapport with the students as they begin their school journey.

What did you do previously? 

Prior to having my own kids, I worked in theatre as an Anaesthetic Nurse. 

What do you like to do for fun?

I LOVE creating! I love to paint and craft and generally learn new skills in painting and crafting. 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

This year I am interning in the Sports Department, I am really excited to get to know everyone and looking forward to being involved in camps and excursions.

What did you do previously?

I recently graduated from Year 12 in which my focus was on performing arts and physical education.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy playing basketball and netball and I play in a couple of different teams with family and friends, I also really love performing as part of a band.

 

 

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about this year? 

I’m a new Learning Assistant in Year 1.

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all this year.

What do you like to do for fun?

I am a mummy of 3 amazing kids and I love watching movies, singing, playing my guitar and drinking good coffee!!!!
