 Thomas Quarmby Memorial Cricket Match

Played on Sunday 23rd January at Coolbinia Football Club, a large group of families and friends came out to celebrate the life of Thomas Quarmby through the game he loved, Cricket. Although it was stifling hot, the day was a huge success and a great way to remember the remarkable young man Thomas Quarmby was, and the positive effect he had on so many people. Thank you to all who attended and made the day such a special and memorable occasion.

Years 7s meet their Senior Mentors

The Year 11 Senior Mentors met with their Year 7 Mentees by the Swan River on Monday to connect as a group and check in with them after their first week as a high school student at TC. The connections between these two groups will continue to grow throughout the year and will provide meaningful growth and opportunity for all the boys.

Prefect Perspectives

Welcome to Week 2 and what a week it’s been! Due to the health precautions needing to be taken with COVID-19, this week has been unpredictable seeing numerous changes to the calendar.

Unfortunately, we have already seen the postponement of planned Masses and Assemblies, which are always highly anticipated events during the school year. An obvious exclusion being our 97-Club Academic Assembly, where we acknowledge the academic achievements of students from last year’s results. This assembly would have also included last years’ graduates of the College who achieved an ATAR of 97 or higher, returning to the school to be acknowledged. This event is paramount in motivating TC students with their academic pursuits. Hopefully, this event will be rescheduled in the very near future.

In regards to PSA Sport, there has also been some dysfunction caused, as certain restrictions have been implemented for this week where spectators will be limited in numbers or possibly not able to attend and support at the venues. This week our competition is Aquinas, always a highly-anticipated matchup for the boys bringing great PSA competition and spirit. Best of luck to the boys in blue and green!

Despite all these early setbacks, students have been motivated and working hard, settling into the new school year. It’s been especially rewarding to see new students and recently appointed staff become comfortable with their new Trinity College surroundings.

Although there is much skepticism with what’s going to happen in the future due to the ever-changing status of rules and regulations surrounding COVID-19, it’s important that we stay optimistic for this school year and are prepared to tackle all the challenges that may arise. This being said, I know that Trinity as a community will find new ways to adapt to any situation and make the most of the school year.

Stay safe everyone and go TC!
