Welcome back to Term 2

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

This year our children will once again be involved in the challenge. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is open to all children in our NSW schools. This term children will be encouraged to borrow books that are in the recommended reading list.

Over the next week children will be receiving their Usernames and Passwords. Previous Usernames and Passwords will still work. Children in Kinder, Year 1 and 2 will be read books at school but feel free to enter books that you read at home via the website. You will login with their Usernames and Passwords and go to student reading records. Enter the book by title or Code (Inside front cover). The books have to be in the Premier's Reading Challenge Booklist but children can read 5 of their own choice.

It is voluntary for the primary children but they will be encouraged to read the books for their level.

  • Challenge closes for student entries: Friday 19 August 2022
  • Children in Kinder, Year 1 and 2 need to read 30 books with 5 of their own choice
  • Children in the primary need to read 20 books with 5 of their own choice.
  • Of course you can keep entering the books once they have achieved the required number
  • I have colour coded the books for each level

  • 3 and 4 - Green
  • 5 and 6 - Orange.
  • The children in the primary have a variety of books, including picture books, nonfiction books and novels. There is something for everyone.
