Welcome Back - Students returning this week

On Monday we were excited to welcome back the majority of our students with 85% in attendance yesterday.  There has been some confusion around schools and COVID-19.

Let us look at some facts

• The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), says that the 1.5 metre social distancing requirement and the four-square metre rule for venues are not appropriate and not required in schools.
• There is limited evidence of transmission between children in the school environment. Screening overseas has shown very low incidence of positive cases in school-aged children. In Australia, 2.4 per cent of confirmed cases have been in children aged between 5 and 18 years of age.  (Department of Health, Australian Government). 
• However, we are still practising good hygiene and reminding students to do the same, including Washing hands throughout the day                                                                                                                 Coughing into elbows                                                                                                                                         Covering sneezes                                                                                                                                                    Avoiding touching others                                                                                                                                              Not coming to school when sick                                                                                                                    Students remaining 1.5m from staff at all times                                                                                                  Parents not permitted on College grounds (except Front Office)

Mr Reed, Mr Storrie and Mr Green visited classes yesterday and reminded students about these good hygiene practices.

Parent/carer access to the College due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements

An important part of students returning, is limiting the number of adults that enter the College. We ask you not enter the College grounds, with the exception of the Front Office. Please use the new and improved Kiss and Drop Zone and continue to use email or phone where possible.

Full Winter Uniform by 25th May 2020

We have extended the time for transitioning to our Winter uniform to include Weeks 3 and 4. By Week 5 commencing Monday 25th May, all students are to wear full Winter uniform.

You can purchase TCC uniforms at WorkWise Clothing , opening hours Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Secondhand uniforms are available at St Vinnie's in Pulteney Street Taree, unfortunately with COVID-19 they have been closed.
